Jasper Lamouelle, Founder and CEO of Itoa Energy Inc, is a proud member of the Tlicho Nation of the Northwest Territories, Canada. The roots of the word ‘Itoa’ can be found in the Tlicho language which means ‘Green’ or ‘Green Leaf’.
For Indigenous peoples, forests have always provided sustenance in many forms, from shelter, clothing, hunting and trapping to harvesting roots and berries. The sustainable use of forests within their traditional territories is critically important for subsistence, economic, and ceremonial practices. Trees and forests are culturally significant and sacred to Indigenous people. They represent the cyclicality of all life, matter and existence.
Indigenous people believe that humans, flora, fauna and matter have to coexist in order for mother earth to have a thriving environment. The relationship is based on a balance which, if broken, can only lead to disaster.
Itoa Energy Inc strives to bring back this balance by developing green energy projects across North America to reduce GHG emissions and other forms of pollution, so that our indigenous communities can live in harmony with nature once again. Our projects are designed to utilize the latest clean and green energy technology to diversify our energy supply and reduce dependence on imported fuel.
